Cracking short film. Great effort by Matt with the film. One fo the drawbacks of living in SE London is the lack of opportunity to go and see more NE football. Gateshead have a couple of away matches in the SE towards the end of the season I might just get to.

Non-League has a buzz all of its own. Possibly my most enjoyable footballing day out here in Rio wasn’t at the Maracana but at America RJ v Volta Redonda. Great atmosphere, decent footy and a smashing day out.

Closer to home, I went to S. Shields v N. Shields in the FA Vase in 2010 with a mate of mine. It was an unforgettable footballing day out, with the highlights being told to get back from the pitch with our pint pots over the loudspeaker and hearing possibly the best chant I have ever heard at a match: S. Shields to N. Shields – ‘You’re just a small town in Scotland!’ Brilliant.
