The reason we have done that is to give the financial analysts who contribute to true faith some time to go through the club’s accounts and craft their analysis of what is going on, on the balance sheet. Its my personal opinion but something smells a bit rotten with the profit notice which was doubtless planned by the club’s PR in an attempt to distract the media’s focus from an analysis of the more substantial information contained in the accounts.
That might work with the less cerebral parts of the football media but it won’t work with us. We’re already on it. Calculators have been charged. We are ready.
As well as the club’s books to look at we also have the small matter of the Donkeys Derby
this Sunday from a hell-hole just down-wind of South Shields. We’ll have a full eye-witness experience of the trip to the land that soap forgot in the next issue. As well as that, we have one of our lads over in Italy for the friendly with England so we thought we’d include coverage of all of that in the next issue as well.
What that will handily mean is that the following issue 121 will coincide with the end of the season and after that we’ll have a full reflection on what has been another year of gloom and tedium courtesy of Mike Ashley and his spirit sapping corporate defeatism at Newcastle United Football Club.
The final issue of the season will also coincide with what we all hope will be North Shields triumphant return to Tyneside from Wembley with the FA Vase.
Obviously, we are all on the look out for new writers to true faith and if you wanted to try
your hand, please just drop us a line on email@example.com
