Despite the absolutely manky weather on Saturday there was a very decent turn-out for the Ashley Out demonstration outside Sports Direct on Northumberland Street.
Everyone here at true faith is full of admiration for those who got absolutely drenched in the rain staging the protest which was absolutely 100% peaceful, completely incident-free and a credit to the people taking part.
Thanks to our buddy Spielberg, Matt Flynn, our man behind the lens, we recorded another Video-Blog which we know are popular with the true faith cognoscenti.
Many, many thanks to those who agreed to give their views on camera. This isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but it says a lot for how people feel right now that they take a big deep breath and express just how bad the situation is at our beloved club right now.
We think this is a good medium for rank and file supporters to give expression to their frustrations and sadness at what is being done to Newcastle United FC.
Thanks again for all taking part.
I WAS COLD DRENCHED BUT PROUD TO PROTEST OUTSIDE SD WITH MY FRIENDS WE HAVE TO CONTINUE SMALL STEPS.
Excellent. We need more good folk like these people in the blog – and I believe we have loads – to start standing up and fighting the injustice served upon our football club and working people in general by Mike Ashley.
The thing i like about these videos lads is the way it keeps me mind on the large scale problem we face.
Its a huge and general problem for me with football that i think is reaching breaking point for many fans right across the country. Everyone keeps mentioning things like ‘disconnect’ and ‘identity’ and ‘pride’ and ‘the city’. Concepts that are wholly missing from sports pages and Sky TV from donkey brains who, if we’re honest, just don;t get football. They are paid professionals in the game. It is us who get football. And i think this general feeling is widespread now across the country – that slowly but surely something has been nicked from us, right from under our noses, season after season, and is now a palpable feeling of robbery of a part of who we are. that is what hurts me most. That something that is a part of me has been fucking robbed by this bastard. I truly fucking hate the man, i really do.
Our fight is with Ashley, but this is a more generalised fight for the soul of football and it is a huge fight that only recently i have started to believe we can win. Its the long game lads and these videos help in that little way of articulating a deeper malaise that we must address now and with any future running of our club.
there’s going to be no summer sop that will placate us now. No ‘investment’ or plan that we won;t see through. He’s got to understand how deadly serious we all are, and how we ain;t stopping until its over. When he realises that, he’ll leave.
