It's a Beautiful Game! Scarves and flags left in honour of Sir Bobby Robson distributed to Africa by charities - Rob Draper, The Mail
A gesture by Sir Bobby Robson's family shows we still have a Beautiful Game. When Sir Bobby died last summer, fans set up impromptu shines at his former clubs - Newcastle, Ipswich, West Bromwich and Fulham.
Around 6,000 shirts, scarves and flags were left by fans. They are now being distributed by a number of charities - KitAid, the RAF's Taking Football to Africa and Beyond Appeal, Coaches Across Continents and CAFOD – to benefit the disadvantaged in eastern Europe, Asia, South America and Africa.
One of Sir Bobby's sons, Andrew, said: 'My family and Dad's former clubs didn't want to see any of that memorabilia go to waste.'
