Over the summer, Newcastle West Foodbank reports a considerable spike in demand from families who need food. The problem is particularly acute for families with young children.

Some United supporters have organised a Rock gig to both help gather in donations of food and money to help some under pressure members of our Geordie communities over this time.

To get full details of how the gig works, please refer to this piece which has appeared in The Chronicle – just click here

We all wish the organisers every success, hope there is a great night but most importantly plenty essential food-stuffs are donated ahead of the new season.

If you can’t make Friday night’s gig, please note there will be a collection point for food donations before the Hellas Verona Friendly match at St James’ Park this coming Sunday.

Please note – Led Zeppelin not 100% guaranteed to appear on Friday.’
