For those of you looking for a way to get out of the house, shopping, chores etc and quite fancy watching a game of good, honest football fare, may we recommend the delights on display at the International Stadium, Felling By-pass and erstwhile home to the excellent Gateshead Football Club.
Our friends and neighbours have had a really good start to the season under the stewardship of former Mackem manager Malcolm Crosby. The Tynesiders have won four of their opening six games of the season and only lost one (albeit a mauling at the hands of Tranmere Rovers – remember them?).
The Imps will travel to the North East with a good following so Gateshead will need all the support it can get. Remember Newcastle United season ticket holders will get into the game for £10 with a fiver reduction.
United doesn’t have a game this coming week because of the International break and the next time McClaren’s team will be in action will be away to West Ham on 14/Sep/15 and we won’t be at home until Watford on the 19/Sep/15.
That’s a long stretch to go without any live football so you could break the fast with a trip to see a good Geordie club in action and give them your support.
You won’t be disappointed.
