FSF-Logo-MEDIUMNewcastle United Supporters Trust  publicly endorse the Football Supporters Federation’s call for a campaign for “affordable football for all” at a protest to be held on 14 August 2014 in London which will march on the Premier League & Football League’s Headquarters in Gloucester Place. Full details of the protest is detailed here on the FSF’s website

Football clubs, including our own grew out of the communities whose names they carry on their shirts and local people have sustained them through the good times and bad. However, clubs are charging grotesque amounts of money to watch football at a time when the game is awash with cash and times in the real world are very tough. Modern day ticket prices have all but priced out many less affluent supporters and this has to be wrong.

Newcastle United Supporters Trust unreservedly backs the FSF’s campaign and encourages those who are able to attend the protest.

Similarly, the Trust would encourage supporters to sign the FSF’s online petition to limit ticket prices to £20 per game – click here

Summit To Shout About

Newcastle United fan and NUST member Matthew Close recently represented NUST and raised money forJUSTNewcastle (see below) in a sponsored walk up Mount Snowdon with representatives of other football clubs.

Wrexham Supporters Trust invited Supporters Trusts or Groups to complete the walk with them and raise money for their own organisation in the process.

NUST would like to thank Matthew who raised £230 which will go towards providing free football coaching courses to youngsters across the North East.

You can still donate to Matthew here – it’s not too late!
