The Newcastle United Foundation’s heritage project Toon Times, aims to bring the rich and varied history of Newcastle United Football Club to the masses. It will culminate in a blockbuster exhibition of the same name at the Discovery Museum in February 2014. Although the exhibition will display objects from the St. James’ Park collection, we also want to provide a Fan Zone. This will be an area dedicated to your stories, your images and your mementos. These will be displayed to give a unique fans view of Newcastle United, and an insight into what it is like to be a loyal supporter.
We would like to collect or loan personal objects, images and stories from the people that have been a constant support through the decades and display them alongside star objects of equal importance from the Newcastle United archive.
Do you still have your first match program? Do you still wear the shirt of your favourite player? Do you take your Toon top around the world with you? Share your story and your stuff with the rest of the crowd, and cement your part in Newcastle United’s history.
Toon Times is also wanting fans to contribute their memories (good and bad) of supporting the club. What was your first or most memorable match or goal? Have you got an away day experience that you will not forget? Or who is your favourite ever Newcastle United player or manager and why? Memories that have already been sent in can be found on the Sporting Memories Network site;
This is a great opportunity for ALL Newcastle United fans at home and abroad to get involved and support Newcastle United Foundation.
