Newcastle United Fans Foodbank – Wigan home game collection

It’s a Saturday game at St James’ Park with a 3pm KO so the Newcastle United Fans Foodbank will be holding a further collection in what is now the usual place – opposite NINE Bar at the Gallowgate End on Strawberry Place.

The collections will start at 1pm with the Foodbank particularly needing:

Tea, Coffee, Sugar  Pasta / Cooking Sauces  Tinned Tomatoes  Easter Treats

In previous collections organisers have collected almost 3 tonnes per match but as yet have not broke the 3 tonne barrier. With a full house at St James’ Park for Wigan Athletic perhaps we could break that land-mark record?

Its up to us.

The Newcastle West End Foodbank who organise the collections is the biggest Foodbank in the UK and issue over 1000 food parcels per week. The food parcels go to families with children as well as the disabled and all are within our communities. The people who receive food parcels are in dire circumstances and the mind boggles where they would be without the generosity of those who are now consistently donating to the Foodbanks.

Please give what you can.
