There is a good football story in Tyneside but its at the International Stadium rather than GatesheadBadge copySt James’ Park. Gateshead FC has just finished in its highest league position in 54 years and is now fighting to regain the Football League status it so cruelly lost in 1960.

All self-respecting Geordies should get themselves along to the International Stadium this coming Sunday to give Gateshead FC the support they richly deserve.

You can get a ticket here.

You’ll be able to have a good gargle before and after the game because its a lie-in on the Bank Holiday Monday.

You know it makes sense.

That is all.
