Personally I think they’re both wrong. Bellamy’s attitude on
the pitch may be fine but off it and in the way he has conducted
himself over the last month I think there’s more than just a doubt
or two! However, whilst I’d agree if you look at goals per
game (Article)
Bellamy did not score enough and sometimes wasted opportunities, his
pace combined with Shearer’s goals was at times an invaluable way to
unlock stubborn defences. That said his actions and attitude
mean he simply had to go.
The
final say came from newly appointed Assistant to the Manager (note
the interesting semantics there, he’s not the assistant manager)
Terry MacDermott. (Article)
and (Article).
He says, “This will be the last time I’ll talk about Craig Bellamy.”
Let’s bloody hope so eh?
While
I’m on the subject of shutting up, Fat Fred couldn’t resist making a
comment after the Monkey Heeded God of Pennywell paired us with
Chelsea in the cup. (Article)
You know I think the only chairman that is as quotable as Freddy is
Milan Mandaric. And both of them seem only capable of setting
themselves up for a fall. And as for Chelsea in the cup?
I don’t even what to think about that until I really have to.
Meanwhile Birmingham’s co-owner David Sullivan took time out to be
another aiming at Bellamy following his departure to Celtic. (Article)
I just wish they’d all keep their gobs shut myself.
While
we’re on about talking to the press and being tight lipped, what is
the Evening Chronicle’s problem with Stephen Carr? (Article)
If he doesn’t want to talk to the press then surely that’s his
prerogative. Imagine if Bellamy had been so reluctant to talk.
He’d probably still be at the club and we wouldn’t have half the
mess we currently in. What the hell do you want? Make up
your minds eh lads.
Another
player talking this week was Kieron Dyer. In saying how he
begged Bellamy not to give THAT interview he also did something I
thought I’d never hear. He said sorry, in his own words as
well! Blimey wonders never cease. (Article)
Like I said last week it still won’t be enough for some, and I
understand that, and how he is being held up as a paragon of virtue
by some beggar’s belief. He has at least given 100% over the
last couple of weeks but whilst he remains at the club he’ll have to
keep giving all of that to win more supporters over.
