Match Report
All that matters is the result. This wasn't a good performance. In
fact there were times when we looked very shabby indeed. I'm not
keen on Emre being played so far forward and I'm not so keen on
Shola when in these kind of feeling sorry for himself type moods.
Nicky Butt did well I thought and let Parker get forward. The back
four had its wobbles in the first half and Shay came to the rescue
on one occasion. Titus took his goal well and it is to be hoped this
lad can start concentrating fully on the matters at hand rather than
switching off all over the place. He supposedly wants a new contract
but he'll have to show defensive consistency to achieve that. The
odd goal is welcome but he's a defender first and foremost and he
needs to master his trade. He's not a boy any more.
But all that matters is the result. We are set up well for the
return at SJP in a fortnight and whilst Roeder is telling everyone
the job isn't done yet we look ready for a return to the UEFA Cup
next season which is great on so many different levels.

I thought we created lots down the flanks. Duff's influence is
starting to show with some clever runs and touches which a better
strike force would have been able to exploit.
We won when we didn't play well. That's supposed to be good isn't
it?
