Match Report

“A wins a win an ye cannae grumble”, was once quoted by Housewives Favourite Alan Hansen and he is right to an extent. Although, we should be absolutely marmalising teams like Levadia Tallinn, who I honestly think would struggle to overcome Jossy’s Giants if their paths ever cross.

We started off well and went ahead after 10 minutes when new signing Jean-Paul Gautier rose to meet Duff’s floated free-kick. An impressive start in Black & White for the man who knocks out a canny after-shave and I’m sure he’ll go down well in the dressing room if he can get the lads some discount on his range of “bird enticers”.

We had chances to increase our lead trough Parker and Oba but both were thwarted by Arthur Kontenko – I wonder if he has an allotment in the east end of London like his namesake Arthur Fowler? I’m always sceptical about these eastern European goalkeepers (there was an exception – PAVEL!), I imagine that they were taught catching the ball is an offence; the mad Crystal Palace keeper who wears the jogging troosers and who looks like a paraffin lamp is how I imagine them all to be like - nuts.

Crocodile Dundee paid tribute to fellow Aussie Croc-nut Stevie Irwin (R.I.P) in the best possible way by putting in a superb shift at the heart of the defence. He held the back-line together when Titus had to depart and he talked to Duff who was in a very unfamiliar left-back role. I really rate him and hopefully we can get him to stop here for more one more season; I mean, Howay, what does Bondi Beach offer that Jarrra Beach can not offer? Kangaroo shit, that’s what.

As ever, Parker was his industrious, non-stop, all-action self and it seems that the current England Manager, Mike Baldwin, is as mad as the previous one. How he can ignore Parker and instead go for the likes of Phil Neville and the goldfish bowl kid is beyond me.

I can’t recall Shay having much to do throughout the 90 minutes although Vassijev should have done better but he failed to convert the rebound after Shay had made a good save, he magically managed to spoon the ball over from 6 yards with the goal gaping.
