Wigan Athletic FC - Barclays Premiership

Tickets - Sell Out   Coverage – Channel 5, BBC Radio Newcastle 95.4FM   Referee – Pedro Proenca

The last thing we need at the moment is another player injured or unavailable for selection but when they have problems getting to the Airport it seems no matter how hard you try to like the guy the Spanish moaner seems set to facilitate his move away from SJP during January, some say it will be good riddance but I for one will be hanging my head in shame again because not only did we get right royally bummed by Deportivo but another European based club will get an absolute bargain at our expense again.

Looking at the official Frankfurt website it seems that our draw with Arsenal and our form in Europe has gained us a lot of respect from our German brethren and it they think we play a controlled passing game which they think is the correct way of playing the game… They obviously didn’t see our games against Sheff United or Fulham then. We travel to German with a 100% record and a great defensive record which we must maintain to ensure we miss the Champions League drop outs in the next round. Looking at the squad Mr Roeder has taken with him it suggests he has one eye on the forth coming league games against Reading & Blackburn which if you ask me are more of a priority. Frankfurt showed masses of quality at the start of the season were they went on a ten game unbeaten run in the Bundesliga but over the last coupe of weeks has seen a massive dip on form where they have lost two and draw one with seven goals conceded. Will it be another win in Europe from Glenn’s men, will an under strength squad see our first defeat in Europe this season our will we be pleasantly surprised again come 9.30pm on Thursday again.

Likely Squads:

Zee Germans – Ochs, Preuß, Vasoski, Fink, Köhler, Streit, Weissenberger, Thurk, Jones, Meier, Spycher Takahara, Pröll, Reinhard, Russ, Huber, Stroh-Enge, Kyrgiakos, Zimmermann, Chris, Huggel, Chaftar, Toski , Rehmer

Man to Watch – Chris – Great defender

Fitness News – No official news.

NUFC – Given, Babayaro, Forster, Solano, Bramble, Taylor, Huntington, Ramage, Butt, Emre, N'Zogbia, Milner, Pattison, Troisi, Gate, Edgar, Martins, Finnigan, Sibierski, Luque, Carroll.

Man to Watch – Pattison – If he plays he will relish the opportunity.

Fitness News – Duff (4 weeks) Ameobi (Mid 2007) Owen (Mid 2007) Moore (4 Weeks) Bernard (2 Weeks), Parker (1 Week), Dyer (Days)

Late Fitness Tests – Baba-yoyo.

"Reasons to be Cheerful" – Toon top the group in Europe with a 100% record, Luque has launched an ultimatum of “Play me or I will leave”… the doors over there and I hope Milner's performances over the past couple of weeks has convinced Roeder that he must stay on Tyneside.

Glenn has his own Pitbull that he unleashes on managers who feel it is there god given right to comment on team on management issues at SJP, Tony Sibierski scores in his first league game and Dyer injury is just a nasty scratch heheheeee.

Keep On, Keepin’ On…
