Bolton Wanderers - Barclays Premiership

Location – SJP   Kick Off – 16.00pm  Date – Sunday 15th October 2006

That’s it for international’s for a couple of months at the very least…. Sunday brings a real test for the boys with Big Sam bringing his in form Trotters to a less than confident SJP. A famous guy once said “Your only as good as your last performance” and I really don’t want to dwell on the past but I have a couple of words that can sum up our performance against Man U, naive, thoughtless, gutless and frankly shite. I have to admit this was the first time I have ever had to question Roeder’s decisions but he really needs to pull his finger out if we are to protect a great record of not losing at SJP to Bolton for over 30 years. We really need the Geordie passion and spirit to return and fast. This will be our fourteenth game in all competitions so far this season and we bring with us a record of 6 wins 3 draws and 4 losses which asks the question have we had a good start to the season or do our wins in Europe mask what can be described as a poor season? With Dyer slowly returning to fitness the midfield must be thinking that someone will be warming the bench towards the end of October or will they be able to give Roeder a selection headache. There is a lot of reasons why we should be expecting a decent result on Sunday but again I find myself a touch apprehensive with only time giving me the answers I crave.

Last Season:

Away (L) 2 - 0 (Diouf, Stellios)

Home (W) 3 - 1 (Solano, Shearer, Ameobi) (Davies)

Likely Squads:

Bolton W - Jaaskelainen, Hunt, Meite, Faye, Ben Haim, Fortune, Giannakopoulos, Campo, Speed, Nolan, Diouf, Davies, Anelka, Walker, Vaz Te, Tal, Fojut, Al Habsi, Smith

Man to Watch – Anelka – Always has the nerve and skill to hurt teams.

Fitness News – Ricardo Gardner, Henrik Pedersen and Joey O'Brien out

NUFC - Harper, Srnicek, Krul, Carr, Bramble, Moore, Taylor, Ramage, Parker, Butt, Duff, Emre, N'Zogbia, Solano, Milner, Pattison, Ameobi, Martins, Sibierski, Luque, Rossi.

Man to Watch – Solano – Trying to get his place back off Milner.

Fitness News – Given (Stomach) Babayaro (Prat) Alan O'Brien (Groin) Owen (Leg) Dyer (soon, I promise) are all out.

”3 Reasons to be Happy” – Scotty Parker opened his International account without getting injured, Bernard & Dyer nearly there and Emre is staying put… need I say more.

If you have a ticket for Sunday then “God Speed” and until next time Keep On, Keepin’ On…
