Dear tf....

The boy Moore isn't the answer but he's a damn sight more confident on the ball than our French friend. Good performance nice to beat the North London mackems.

Spurs fans had a little too much front as they brought a decent crew for once but also wore a lot of pinks and pastels like the faggots they are.
Saltwell Mag, Gateshead

Disappointed we only started with one up front, and that Emre gets a game ahead of N'Zog, but 3 points are the most important factor. Hopefully some signings before Fat Fred flogs the club and transfer window shuts.
Monkseaton mags

Cap doffed to Shola. Great work for the first goal, fine finish for the second. N'Zog changed the game for us with his pace...love watching this lad! Another fine shift from the captain.
Guy HW, Aberdeen

Ameobi led line and showed us what he can do when he puts his mind to it Get In there son M.O.M in my eyes! What the fuck was with the standing ovation for Butt, he's done fuck all part from score 2 goals in a friendly. Still need a striker to lead us

Lovely approach play, superb midfield display from Parker & young Charlie boy, Titus had a good game could do with strengthening at the back another decent centre half and two new fullbacks would'nt go amiss! Its obvious we need strikers

while you can never sniff at 3 points, i wasn't very impressed with the lads but that only leaves room for improvment in the future. Wigan were a bit better than i thought they would be but a collection of individual errors led to their goal. top man Shola

It sounds a bit lame but the pitch did them far more favours than us when the ball couldn't move quickly and stopped us from getting our passing game going. We didn't play well. Everyone knows where we are short but only Shepherd can put it right.
Mick

Well it was a win but i'm still not sure if we played well or not.
Ted, Durham

I understand why Parker got mom but shola was immense

N'Zogbia was really annoying me with what was in my opinion, persistent ball watching and lack of basic movement. There were numerous occasions when we had procession on the left hand side with a player other than charlie and he could have made simple runs

Great win, but against stiffer competition we would have been skinned with the confusion ongoing at the back! Strikers are needed, but an organising presence at center half is equally important for success this season.
Dale from Dallas

Played some decent stuff first half. Header for Wigans goal aside, Carr was excellent and I'm not his biggest fan. As usual tho'we gave the opposition a goal rather than them having to create it. We were overrun in midfield second half, but we did win.

3 points & an impressive display from Shola.
HiHo - SMB.

Without Butt getting injured I dont think we would have won.

No more 5 in the middle Glen!

I'd like to see n'zog for butt every game thanks very much

If Taylor was not a Geordie, the lad would be gone by now. Not sure how Roeder can leave N'Zogbia out of his starting eleven,or is he going to be the easiest to leave out week after week instead of so called stars!!!
Swindonmag

Luque needed more time, but a good win and either way its 3 points in the bag. Taylor and Bramble or moore at centre half please

Not sure how much the pitrch affected players (or injuries which might explain Given's shocking distribution) but it's 3 points.

Good performances from Parker and Ameobi.

Some of our fans are very quick to jump on people's backs and moan.

Its going to be a long season, we were lucky to come away with a win.

Top display from Ameobi capped with a goal and an assist. More of the same please!

Hard earned 3 pts. On the day, Parker (work rate) and Shola's endeavour stood out.
Chris W (Morpeth)

Torrential rain, ruined any chance of a good game. Paul Jewell wants to wind his neck in n'all, cheeky get!
Young Ron Atkinson

Unconvincing.

Charlie should be the first name on the team sheet!

Great to get a win, but we need to be more convincing

zog should start instead of butt, especially at home

Despite reports to the contrary, I thought Carr had a canny game although that was before I realised he had called Taylor to leave it in the second half. Ameobi's display made me wonder what the cost has been to the club in providing Alan Shearer with the....

Not a great game but the result was everything. We all know that we need additions to the squad and the noises we are hearing from the boss are very encouraging. We must make sure that we get a good start to the season.
Bill Scott. Low Fell. Gateshead

Parker was an inspiration for the rest of the team!!!!!

Hopefully we will have a few new faces in as we struggled with a 4-5-1, but lads battled well and got what we deserved. Still need 2 strikers, a centre half and 1 if not 2 fullbacks.
