Arsenal
@ The Emirates - Tuesday 29th January 2008
It seems like we've lost a few comrades from the TiFosi stuff. I
blame the cold. Note to missing TiFosi lads - sort yourselves man!
Ah
well, same teams, same venue, same result. Arsenal really need to be
seen as the benchmark of where we aspire to be. Their class shone
and we never looked like being a real threat to them, I can't even
be bothered to talk about the game.
In the past few days we have managed to not sign Jonathan Woodgate,
who decided to go to Spurs instead. Now that is either going to be a
huge mistake in not managing to get the lad up here, or the most
sensible thing to happen at Newcastle all season, all depending on
how his fitness holds out.
Then there is the appointment of Dennis Wise as "executive director
on football-related matters", whatever that may be. Keegan has
insisted that Wise answers to him, although he seemed as surprised
as we did when asked about the appointment at his pre-match press
conference. Tony Jimenez has been brought in as vice-president of
player recruitment and Jeff Vetere from Real Madrid as technical
co-ordinator. This signifies a whole new system being developed at
Newcastle United and it will be interesting to see how this works.
Up next is the Boro, and we cannot settle for less than 3 points
from the smoggies in what they see as a local derby, but which isn't
really. We know that they will try and kill the game from the off
but we need to play and play well. Goals and points are needed and
this is the opportunity to kick-start the season again.

Arsenal
Away (AGAIN)
Outclassed again by a far superior side However we do seem to like
to make things as hard as humanly possible for ourselves by playing
ourselves into as much unnecessary trouble as possible.
With our goalkeeper now our playmaker and seeing far more of the
ball (at his feet) than our captain did all night it’s not hard to
see why this particular Geordie (With far too high expectations) now
stops out all night to celebrate us having a shot on target.
Emmanuel Adebayor is obviously a player with HUGE B.O. problems,
thus explaining any of our defenders’ refusal to stand anywhere near
him and standing nowhere near the current most deadliest striker in
the Premier League may well result in a net bulging experience which
makes the scoreboard change!!!!!!!!!
I would like to say on record my thanks to the people who performed
CPR to revive me after Shay Given back heeled the ball an inch and a
half past his own post.
My close sources inside SJP have reliably informed me that Kevin
Keegan will splash the cash late on Thursday night to bring in 47
balloons which will allow us to create chances in the other teams
box.
With the League(ha), FA cup (ha) and the League cup (HUMPH!!) now
out of reach for this season, we can now concentrate on our
Northumberland Senior Cup campaign tonight at North Shields!!!!!
Seriously we have got to beat the Chemical heads on Sunday!!!
Keep On, Keepin’ On …
