GREAT NORTH RUN – SUPPORT TRUE FAITH RUNNERS

Its one of the sporting highlights of the North East’s sporting calendar on Sunday, with the Great North Run once again bringing the world’s attention to Tyneside.

From our stable of finely honed athletes (ahem) we have two GNR participants who will be pulling on their trainers and 13 miles later coughing their insides up on the Lawe top in the very lovely environs of South Shields.

They are of course, Glenn Ashcroft and Gavin Bradshaw, two massive true faith stalwarts who are both running in aid of two brilliant charities.

Glenn has been doing all of the design work on true faith for donkey’s years now and its fair to say without him we wouldn’t exist. You won’t meet a cannier lad than Glenn or a more spot on Black & Whiter. Glenn is running in aid of true faith’s favourite charity, the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation.

Glenn only needs a few more sponsors to reach his target, so please weigh in and back with him with a fGNR2ew bob.

Glenn has got himself on of those Just Giving pages so if you could see you way clear to putting some money his way and the way of the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation, it will be very much appreciated.

Anyone who has been reading true faith for any length of time will know the name Gavin Bradshaw. Gav has long been one of true faith’s most accomplished writers and is of course the columnist who has been penning The End column in the fanzine over many years. Erudite, insightful and independently-minded Gav bleeds Black & White and is fair to say, the salt of the earth.

The beneficiaries of Gav’s efforts on Sunday will hopefully be a true Tyneside institution, St Oswald’s Hospice. Those of us who are aware of its great work will instantly know Gav could not have chosen a more worthwhile cause.

If you want to know more about St Oswald’s Hospice, please just click here.

Obviously, we’d love to help Gav raise as much money as is possible through his participation in the Great North Run so if you an afford a few quid (large donations won’t be unwelcome) and are looking to do someone in need, someone from around the doors in fact, a really good turn, then this could be the one for you.

Gav has set up a Just Giving page so just click here to donate.
