We are delighted to inform everyone that of the near £4500 raised by supporter donations to GALLOWGATE FLAGS, over £3000 has now been committed to purchasing flags in time for the first home game of the season v Huddersfield Town on 13/Aug/16 at St James’ Park.

In time the remainder of the money raised will be invested in more flags of different styles but donations are still required because GALLOWGATE FLAGS intend to be around for a long while and to transform the match-day experience at SJP as well as ensure flag displays at our home games over time match anything anywhere in Europe. You’ve heard of the Yellow Wall, well next up is the Toon Wa’all!

This is just the start, with our support GALLOWGATE FLAGS will grow and grow.

GALLOWGATE FLAGS’ intention is to make a big and immediate impact for the first home game.

Over 400 flags have now been purchased and these are hand-wavers of various styles and sizes which will form part of theGallowgate Flags. We're a group of season ticket holders in the Corner looking to make SJP better for the team. Join us here. display before the players come down the tunnel and onto the pitch. Other parts of the display will be the flags supporters already have and which have either been donated to GALLOWGATE FLAGS or will be brought along by individual supporters. GALLOWGATE FLAGS are also encouraging individual supporters to bring their Black & White scarves to this game and as per the Alan Shearer testimonial wave them in unison as the players prepare for KO. Whilst making a racket obviously.

This first game of the season is an opportunity to demonstrate our thanks to Rafa Benitez for agreeing to stay at United but also to welcome the new players to the club and give them a debut memory never to be forgotten.

Massive progress has been made by GALLOWGATE FLAGS in a very short space of time but there is still loads to be done.

In the short term, GALLOWGATE FLAGS needs volunteers to join the group and ensure this all goes off well and that it can become a long term feature of the support we give to the manager and players in the future.

Right now, GALLOWGATE FLAGS needs season ticket holders in THE GALLOWGATE to volunteer to help with the displays.

To volunteer please e-mail contact@gallowgateflags.co.uk with your seat and season ticket details.

Becoming a GALLOWGATE FLAGS volunteer will mean turning up a bit earlier before KO and hanging back afterwards to collect in flags and returning them for storage in readiness for the following home game.

Its critical GALLOWGATE FLAGS gets lots of volunteers who are reliable, can look after the flags and get them back after the game.

PLEASE VOLUNTEER IF YOU HAVE A SEASON TICKET IN THE GALLOWGATE AND WANT TO HELP!

There are also other ways you can help.

Just over 300 supporters have made donations of in the main, tenners and twenties and that has provided a great pot from which to get started.
