Thanks to the fantastic enthusiasm of Newcastle United supporters and the backing there is for GALLOWGATE FLAGS, funding has now been secured to fund the display of LEGENDS FLAGS that will be displayed ahead of the Brentford game on Saturday 15/Oct/16, KO 3pm.

GALLOWGATE FLAGS are now in the process of having the flags manufactured and the intention is to get them as big as is practical for display for the Brentford game.

GALLOWGATE FLAGS is a genuine, supporters’-run group that raises funds for displays and flags through fellow macdonaldgallowgate-player-flags-1-8-size-5supporters. The flags displayed have been bought and paid for because of donations supporters have made. This is no corporate or club sponsored plastic display – this comes from the rank and file of supporters who click through the turnstiles and those who can’t get to games for whatever reason. This is what supporters can do by working together.

That said, GALLOWGATE FLAGS would not be able to achieve what it has already and what it would like to do in future without the full commitment and enthusiasm of those people at Newcastle United and that especially includes Rafa Benitez, Lee Marshall, Wendy Taylor, Steve Storey and many others. They have been great.

The designs for the flags have now been completed and we have season-ticket holder and accomplished artist and designer, Peter Willis to thank for his work which he has donated entirely FREE of charge. We are in Peter’s debt.

By way of reminder, the LEGENDS to be celebrated prior to the Brentford game will be:

Colin Veitch, Bill McCracken, Hughie Gallacher, Stan Seymour (senior), Jackie Milburn, Joe Harvey, Bob Moncur, Malcolm Macdonald, Kevin Keegan, Peter Bearsdsley and Sir Bobby Robson.

The designs for the GALLOWGATE FLAGS will be shared over social media and within several websites etc so keep your eyes peeled. The one featured is an example of what is to come. But bear in mind, these are going to be massive.

To continue its work, GALLOWGATE FLAGS needs the commitment of supporters, particularly on match-days. People who will be reliable, sensible and will work as part of a team.

If you want to become a GALLOWGATE FLAGS volunteer you should of course have a season ticket in the Gallowgate GF Advert -1End and be prepared to come to the match a good hour before the game and stay behind about an hour afterwards.

The more volunteers we have the better and easier everything will be. To get in touch please e-mail -‘contact@gallowgateflags.co.uk

GALLOWGATE FLAGS has more ambitions to purchase more flags of lots of different styles, formats to fulfil the ambition to establish the GALLOWGATE END as one of the most vibrant and eye-catching displays of visual and vocal support in the UK and hopefully Europe. That cannot be achieved without the support of all of us both via donations and by volunteering.

Please donate to GALLOWGATE FLAGS here

Every penny raised will go towards the purchase of flags and displays within the GALLOWGATE END.’
