Big Beats Bronson

Big Beats Bronson

Every now and then something hits you between the eyes! And that applies to this lot from the South East Northumberland coast. Unique, fresh, compelling … that is Big Beats Bronson and their excellent line-up of Mista-Breeze, Baron Von Alias and Eliza Lawson. Something could be stirring with BBB (see they even have their own abbreviation already) with national radio networks picking them up and fighting their corner. You need to get on these NOW!

The legendary Tom Robinson of er, Tom Robinson Band fame (ask your Dad) is plugging them at every opportunity from his residency on the excellent BBC Radio 6, which is where yours truly first heard them.

See, even the squares are getting into them now!

How to describe them? Well, it’s Hip Hop with a distinctive Geordie lilt. It would sound ludicrous for some heads from Seghill to sing with a LA South Central flava. So they don’t. This lot are obviously Straight Outta Seaton Deleval. You’ll dig these cats, kids!

They have a more Beastie Boys side to them but their narrative has a definite cartoon edge and the films are evidence someone’s mutha and fatha put them in front of the telly with Buster Keaton on the go at a very early age.

Do yourself a favour and get hold of their new EP – MAY CONTAIN NUTS.

You’d have to be a proper twat to not take a sip of the BIG BEATS BRONSON!

We’ll have a massive interview with the BBB scallywags (aye, they are all Mags) in the next issue of your beloved fanzine (tf98) but until then … jump into all this:
